2.2.1.1.1. Minna No Nihongo I (Everybody's Japanese 1)

The Minna no Nihongo series serves as the foundation of our Japanese language studies here at Yamasa. With few exceptions, almost everyone who enters Yamasa at an elementary level will start with these books (or from a chapter within these books). The Japanese learnt from these two books will serve as an excellent foundation for intermediate and advanced Japanese studies, as well as providing a neccessary base for day-to-day spoken Japanese.

Despite its slight emphasis on conversational Japanese, the textbooks also strive to place equal emphases on the other 3 areas of the language, writing, reading and listening, through extensive grammar drills and listening exercises.

Book 1 begins with the learning of hiragana and katakana, and covers a wide-range to topics such as basic greetings, describing objects and people, to telling the time, describing your thoughts and so on.
